2.0 TFSI Coil Conversion and ICM Delete Harness Kit for 1.8T AEB / ATW - Audi A4 B5, VW Passat B5 - Dynaparts

Overview

The 1.8T 20V AEB and ATW engines fitted to early Audi A4 B5 and VW Passat B5 models use an ignition control module (ICM) and 3-wire coils. This layout is a recurring source of ignition faults in the workshop: unstable idle, intermittent misfires, and long diagnosis by swapping parts. This Dynaparts kit deletes the ICM and converts the wiring to 4-wire, allowing the coils from 2.0 TFSI / TSI engines to be fitted, which are easier to source and less expensive.

Kit contents

• 4 coil conversion harnesses (3-wire to 4-wire)
• 1 ICM delete loom

Required separately

• 4 x 2.0 TFSI / TSI coils
• 1 set of coil adapters for the valve cover (the AEB valve cover does not directly accept push-down coils)

These items are not included in the kit.

Fitment

Only engines fitted with 3-wire coils and an ICM are concerned. Other 1.8T 20V engines (Golf IV, Leon, TT, S3, etc.) accept 4-wire coils directly. The engine code should be checked on the timing belt cover sticker before ordering.
