PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION POLICY
In accordance with European Regulation 2016/679 of April 27, 2016
(known as the "General Data Protection Regulation" or GDPR)
This personal data protection policy (hereinafter: the "Policy") describes the commitment of the Site jdm-distribution.fr, on behalf of the company JDM Distribution (RCS Bordeaux 538 265 190, 4 Rue Henri de Châtelier, 33600 Pessac Cedex, SIRET 53826519000040, VAT No. FR13538265190), published by the Manager as data controller, with regard to respecting the privacy and protecting the personal data of its users. This Policy has been drafted to inform you of the practices and conditions under which jdm-distribution.fr collects, uses and stores your personal data (hereinafter: the "Data").
It describes the various Data that we may collect and process, or that you may provide to us, when you access and/or use the website https://www.jdm-distribution.fr (the "Site") on which our products are sold. The term "Site" refers only to the website https://www.jdm-distribution.fr.
Given the constant evolution of laws and regulations relating to technology and the protection of personal data, this Policy is likely to be updated. If you are a user of the Site, you will be informed of any changes by email.
If any clause of this Policy is declared void or contrary to regulations, it shall be deemed unwritten but shall not affect the validity of the other clauses of this Policy.
This Policy applies to Data collected:
• Through simple browsing of the Site
• Through emails exchanged between JDM Distribution and you, or any other electronic messaging tool
• When you create a user account on the Site
• When you place an order on the Site
• When you subscribe to the Site's Newsletter (the "Newsletter")
It does not apply to information collected by any third parties or through websites operated by them, including through applications or content (including advertisements) redirecting the user to the Site. Please read this Policy concerning the processing of your Data carefully. Non-essential cookies and trackers are only placed with your consent, obtained through our cookie management banner (see section 9 "Cookies and Trackers"). It is your responsibility to ensure that the Data provided to JDM Distribution is accurate. Where applicable, you can correct and update it from your "My Account" area.
1. WHAT DATA DOES JDM DISTRIBUTION COLLECT?
Depending on the nature and purpose of your interaction with JDM Distribution (creating a user account, subscribing to the Newsletter, completing contact forms, as well as during any telephone conversations), we may collect the following Data:
• Your email address will necessarily be requested if you wish to create a user account, contact us via the contact forms and/or receive our Newsletter
• Data relating to your identity, such as your last name, first names, email address, postal addresses and telephone numbers, may be requested
• Browsing Data: this is Data relating to the way you use the Site, including: IP address, browser used, browsing duration, search history, operating system used, language and pages viewed
• Data concerning your visits to the Site, including traffic data, log files and other communication data or resources that you use when accessing the Site
• Order Data: your postal address is required to issue invoices. Likewise, your bank, PayPal or other financial partner details must be provided in order to pay for your order
• Data relating to the use of social networks when you use their features.
2. HOW IS YOUR DATA COLLECTED?
Data may be collected in various ways on the Site. Data may be collected directly when you provide it to us through the contact, user account creation and Newsletter subscription forms available on the Site, and/or when you provide it while contacting us by telephone. When you contact us through these various means, a copy of your exchanges with JDM Distribution, including email addresses, may be made and archived. JDM Distribution also collects certain Data indirectly by means of cookies/trackers. How they work, their list and how to accept or refuse them are detailed in section 9 "Cookies and Trackers".
3. WHY IS YOUR DATA COLLECTED?
If you are a regular user, we collect your Data in order to:
- Send you our Newsletter and/or personalized commercial offers if you have consented to this
- Manage orders and perform the contract
- Ensure the security and traceability of purchases on the site
- Send you information about your account (in particular purchase invoices and order history)
- Handle your requests submitted via the contact page
- Allow you to leave a review of the products and/or the Site
- Inform you of changes concerning the Site or our range of products and services
- Uphold our rights and obligations under the contracts entered into with users, and for any other lawful purpose.
We may also use cookies or trackers:
- To secure your browsing and improve your user experience, in particular by recognizing the username and password you have already provided so that you do not have to enter them on every page of the Site where they are required. Refusing these cookies will prevent you from placing any order on the Site (identification impossible).
- With your consent only: to play YouTube videos embedded in product pages and to measure the effectiveness of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram (Meta). Details are provided in section 9 “Cookies and Trackers”.
Failure to correctly complete the Site's form(s) may block access to certain pages, in particular those relating to ordering products or services.
4. WHO PROCESSES YOUR DATA?
Your Data is processed by JDM Distribution staff and associates responsible for:
- Site management (orders and shipments)
- Support management, to answer all your questions
- Billing management.
In addition, in the course of our business and for processing purposes, your Data may be disclosed to subcontractors, service providers or other third parties, in particular:
- - PayPal
- - Banque Populaire or Alma
- - Sendpulse emailing service
- - Carriers (La Poste, Colissimo, DPD, UPS...)
- - Accounting services
- - Tax authorities
- - Cloudflare (Site security and delivery)
- - Google (YouTube video playback, only with your consent)
- - Meta Platforms (measurement of our Facebook and Instagram ads, only with your consent)
- - Customer review requests by Google
- - OVH email client
Each of these parties is bound by a confidentiality commitment regarding the use and processing of personal data.
For payment management and to make things easier for its users, JDM Distribution offers the following payment methods for purchases on the Site:
- Online payment by bank card (Carte Bleue, Visa, Eurocard / Mastercard) processed by La Banque Populaire.
- Online payment via PayPal
- Payment by bank transfer
- Payment by check
- All your other payment methods (ALMA installment payments)
JDM Distribution has no access to your login credentials or bank card numbers. All transactions are secured using SSL encryption, guaranteeing both the identity of the payment provider and the confidentiality of your data.
Our Newsletters are sent through email campaigns managed by Sendpulse Inc, 220 E 23rd St #401, New York, NY 10010.
All of the above-mentioned subcontractors, service providers, Partners or other third parties are contractually obligated to respect the confidentiality and protection of the Data and to process it solely for the purposes for which we provide it to them.
Your Data may be transferred to any purchaser or other successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution or other sale or transfer of some or all of the assets of JDM Distribution, whether due to uncertainty or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation or other proceedings in which the Data of JDM Distribution users is among the assets transferred.
Finally, we may also disclose your Data:
- to comply with any order required by applicable law, including governmental and regulatory requests
- if we believe that disclosure is necessary or required to protect the rights, property or safety of JDM Distribution, its customers or other stakeholders.
Any such disclosure includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for the purpose of protection against fraud and counterfeiting.
The Site may contain links to various websites and social media platforms hosted on third-party servers and operated by individuals or organizations over which JDM Distribution has no control. Consequently, we cannot under any circumstances be held responsible for the way your Data is stored or used on these third-party servers. We recommend that you review the personal data protection policy of each third-party website you access through the Site in order to understand how your Data will be used.
5. HOW LONG IS YOUR DATA KEPT?
JDM Distribution keeps your Data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in Article 3. This retention period differs depending on the Data concerned, as the nature and purpose of the collection may cause it to vary. Likewise, certain legal obligations require a specific retention period.
When you subscribe to the Newsletter, we keep your email address until you unsubscribe.
When you contact JDM Distribution using the contact form or communicate with us by phone, your data may be kept:
- for up to one (1) year from the last contact if you do not have a customer account or have not placed an order on the Site.
- for up to ten (10) years (legal period) from the last order placed on the Site, if this information relates to that order.
- In all other cases, the retention period for such exchanged Data shall not exceed one (1) year.
With regard to your user account, all of your billing data is retained for ten (10) years from the date of purchase, even if you have requested the deactivation of your user account.
If you request the deletion of your personal Data, your Site user account will be deactivated and anonymized, then fully deleted at the end of the aforementioned periods, starting from the day on which you made the request. Finally, Data collected through cookies or trackers will be retained for up to six (6) months for audience measurement cookies or trackers and for up to thirteen (13) months for all others. Beyond the aforementioned retention periods, your Data will be anonymized and retained for statistical purposes only.
6. HOW IS YOUR DATA PROTECTED?
Your Data is stored on a secure server protected by a firewall and antivirus software. We have implemented technical and organizational measures designed to ensure the security and confidentiality of your Data against any accidental loss and against any unauthorized access, use, modification and disclosure. However, given the inherent characteristics of the Internet, we cannot guarantee optimal security for information exchanged over this network. We make every effort to protect your Data, but we cannot guarantee the absolute security of information transmitted to the Site. You agree that you transmit your Data at your own risk. We cannot be held liable for any failure to comply with the privacy settings or security measures in place on the Site. Accordingly, you agree that the security of your information is also your responsibility. For example, it is your responsibility to keep secret the password that gives you access to your user account. Never disclose it to third parties. Likewise, be careful when disclosing information in the public sections of the Site, as these may be viewed by any user of the Site.
7. WHAT ARE YOUR RIGHTS?
You can choose how the Data you provide to us is used:
- You can browse the Site without providing any Data. In that case, you will not be able to use certain features of the Site, in particular making purchases (if you are a regular user) and/or downloading content from the Site.
- You can refuse to provide your bank or PayPal details and/or your postal addresses. In that case, you will not be able to make purchases on the Site.
- You can choose to stop receiving the Newsletter and our personalized offers: simply log in to your Site user account or click the link in the email sent to you.
In any event, you may access your user account at any time to view or update your Data and to unsubscribe from our Newsletter if you had subscribed to it. In accordance with the applicable regulations on the protection of personal data, in particular European Regulation 2016/679 on data protection (the "GDPR") and French Law No. 78-17 of January 6, 1978, known as the "Informatique et Libertés" (Data Protection) Act, as amended, you have a right of access to and a right to rectify your Data.
In addition, subject to the conditions set out in said regulations for the exercise of these rights, you have:
- The right to erasure of your Data (excluding accounting data, which must be retained for 10 years under French law, Article L123-22 of the French Commercial Code)
- The right to restriction of the processing of your Data
- The right to object to the processing of your Data on legitimate grounds, in accordance with Article 21 of the GDPR
- The right to portability of the Data you have provided (for automated processing based on consent or the performance of a contract)
- The right to withdraw your consent, where it has been requested from you. Where the processing of your Data is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
You acknowledge, however, that any processing carried out before the withdrawal of your consent remains fully valid. You also have the right to object, without having to give a reason, to JDM Distribution analyzing your Data in order to share it for marketing purposes.
However, in accordance with Article 12.6 of the GDPR, for the exercise of these rights, JDM Distribution, as the controller of this processing, reserves the right to ask you to prove your identity. Please note that the data used to prove your identity will be deleted once we have responded to your request. We have one month to respond to any request relating to the exercise of your rights. This period may be extended by two months due to the complexity or the large number of requests.
8. STORAGE OF DATA COLLECTED BY JDM Distribution

A cookie is a small file placed on your device when you visit the Site. Some are essential for it to function. The others are only placed with your consent, which you give or refuse in the banner displayed during your visit.
Essential cookies (placed without consent, as they are necessary for the service you request):
- - PrestaShop-… and PHPSESSID: login to your account, shopping cart, form security. Duration: 20 days.
- - jdm_tac and jdm_consent: store your cookie preferences. Duration: 6 months.
- - Cloudflare technical cookies, where applicable (for example __cf_bm): protection of the Site against bots and attacks. Duration: 30 minutes maximum.

- - YouTube (Google): playback of videos embedded in product pages. Until you have accepted, the video is not loaded and no data is sent to Google. Cookies: VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE, YSC, PREF. Duration: from session length up to 8 months.
- - Meta (Facebook and Instagram): measuring the effectiveness of our advertising and showing our ads to professionals. Cookies: _fbp, _fbc. Duration: 3 months.
Your choice is stored for 6 months, after which the banner is shown to you again.
